Marvel Entertainment and Arc System Works have announced Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, a new 4v4 tag team fighter coming to PC and PS5 in 2026. The upcoming fighter will offer a fresh take on the Marvel Universe while attempting to appeal to new and seasoned players of the genre.

Announced at the latest PlayStation State of Play showcase, Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is a 4v4 fighter that offers fans a fresh way to “experience the Marvel Universe like never before with reimagined characters and stages.”

While fighting games can often be challenging for inexperienced players, senior producer Reed Baird explained in a PlayStation blog that the team has “designed the mechanics in such a way that you can perform a variety of actions with either traditional fighting game inputs or simple inputs.” With a press of a few buttons, players can master the controls and compete with genre veterans.

Michael Francisco, Senior Product Development Manager continues by saying the development team are “true Marvel fans” and that “players are in for a wild ride” when the game launches in 2026.

Marvel and Arc System Works are promising a new and exciting take on the Marvel Universe, possibly hinting towards all-new storylines. Iconic characters like Spider-Man, Iron Man, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Storm, Ms. Marvel, Ghost Rider, and Star-Lord will all feature as playable characters.

For movesets, characters will feature various skills, “from short-ranged jabs to the cinematic Ultimate Skills, each character features a bespoke set of Normal, Special, and Unique attacks inspired by their abilities and powers in Marvel lore.”

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls has been announced for PS5 and PC via Steam and Epic in 2026. PlayStation, Marvel, and Arc have promised to share “so much more” before the end of the year.
