Marvel 1943: Uncharted Creator Hints at Launch Window for New Game
It seems like there’s finally some movement regarding Marvel 1943, the new game in development bySkydance New Media inspired by the Marvel world with protagonists Captain America and Black Panther!
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is the action-adventure game set in the Marvel universe, inspired by a 2010 series. Specifically, Captain America / Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers. Set in occupied Paris during World War II with protagonists Cpt. America and Black Panther.
The two superheroes must form an unlikely alliance to thwart the plans of the dangerous Hydra organization. With the game officially announced during GDC 2024, complete with a teaser, promising a real blockbuster Marvel-themed game. Set for release in 2025 on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Just last month, MultiCon, the comic convention and more in Los Angeles, took place. During the event, outlet The Direct had the chance to interview actor Khary Payton. The actor who will voice Azzuri/Black Panther in the game.

In the interview, Payton talked about the development and collaboration with the Skydance New Media team. The actor also shared the current status of the game’s development, confirming that the project is still in progress. More specifically, he confirmed a Christmas launch for the game.
Marvel 1943: What We Know About the Development and Game
Marvel 1943 has been in development since at least 2021 by the Skydance New Media team, led by none other than Amy Hennig, a key figure in the creation of the Uncharted series. She’s also worked on classics like Jak and Dexter and Legacy of Kain. A blockbuster adventure that promises tons of action and spectacle.
The game promises an action-packed adventure where you’ll play as 4 characters: Gabriel Jones from the Howling Commandos, and the spy Nanal from Wakanda, along with Captain America and Black Panther. All built using Unreal Engine 5 with a distinctly cinematic style, as confirmed by Payton in the latest interview and Story Trailer.
In Conclusion
The Skydance New Media team and publisher Playon have yet to confirm Payton’s words. However, there’s still optimism, as the official game page still lists a 2025 release. A promising title that could continue the success of many of the Marvel games in recent years!
