Evil Dead The Game Delisted, Is It Shutting Down?

Evil Dead: The Game delisted without warning. Players fear it may signal the end of the horror hit.

Evil Dead The Game Delisted

There’s trouble brewing in the horror gaming world as Evil Dead The Game, a fan-favorite multiplayer title inspired by the iconic film franchise, has mysteriously vanished from multiple digital storefronts. With no formal word from the developers, fans are left to wonder: was this an accident, a silent warning of an impending shutdown, or something else entirely?

And more importantly, is the game gone from all platforms?

Evil Dead The Game Delisted on Epic and Playstation

As of this week, Evil Dead The Game is no longer available for purchase on both the Epic Games Store and the PlayStation Store. No official announcement has been made by Saber Interactive nor Boss Team Games, but several trusted sources (and our own check as of writing) confirm that the game has been removed from these platforms.

The delisting began with the PlayStation Store, where not only the base game but also all associated DLC packs were taken down. Just a day later, the game disappeared from the Epic Games Store too. It, however, remains available on Steam and Xbox, though there’s no telling how long that might last. So if you’ve been thinking about picking it up, now might be your last chance to do so.

While the game has offline modes, a large portion of its appeal is tied to its online co-op and PvP gameplay. So obviously, players are starting to worry that a full shutdown might be on the horizon. Multiple gaming outlets have reached out to Saber Interactive and Boss Team Games for clarification, but so far, there’s been no official response.

A sliver of hope though, a Reddit user reported that Tim Willits, Chief Creative Officer at Saber Interactive, made a brief statement suggesting that they’ll “keep the servers up as long as we can.” This response is both alarming and reassuring at the same time.

Until an official announcement is made, it’s unclear whether this is the beginning of the end or just a temporary issue. Could it be a licensing hiccup? An accidental takedown? That might be believable if it had happened on just one platform. But with Epic and PlayStation both pulling the game within days of each other, it’s hard to ignore the warning signs.

For now, horror fans are watching closely. And hoping this isn’t the last scream from Evil Dead The Game.
