Key Takeaways: The Quick Answer
- Iron Galaxy officially debunked rumors that they are developing Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas remasters after a presentation slide leaked.
- The “Please Stand By” image was simply a standard background used for internal monthly company meetings.
- Despite the denial, industry insiders and past FTC leaks strongly suggest a Fallout 3 Remaster is still in the works following the massive success of the Oblivion Remaster in 2025.
The Slide That Started It All
We’ve all been starving for more wasteland action since the Prime Video series exploded. When Iron Galaxy accidentally fueled the fire this week, the community understandably lost its mind.
A leaked slide from an internal 72-page presentation surfaced online. It featured the iconic “Please Stand By” screen—a visual permanently burned into the retinas of every Fallout fan.
Naturally, speculation went into overdrive. Iron Galaxy has a solid track record porting Bethesda titles, including Skyrim on Switch and Fallout 4 VR. A remaster felt like an absolute lock.

Iron Galaxy Clears the Air
The studio didn’t let the hype train run for long. They took to X to officially kill the rumors before they got completely out of hand.
“Nope! There is nothing to see here,” the studio stated. They explained the retro image was just a behind-the-scenes look at a standard company meeting.
They even apologized for “disturbing the volcanoes,” confirming the slide is used every month. They explicitly stated it has zero connection to any active Fallout development.

Nope! There is nothing to see here. Sorry to disturb the volcanoes, but that was just a BTS look at our company meeting. We use that slide every month and has nothing to do with anything Fallout being worked on. As you can imagine, we love Fallout, too. Now pardon us as we… https://t.co/izbzuNUp0w

The Oblivion Blueprint and Future Hopes
Just because Iron Galaxy isn’t working on it doesn’t mean the dream is dead. We already know Bethesda is heavily invested in bringing its classic back catalog to modern hardware.
The massive shadowdrop of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered in April 2025 proved there is serious money in nostalgia. Todd Howard recently told IGN he was thrilled with the response to that surprise release.
Historically, major modern remasters hit the official storefront markup at around $49.99 or even a premium retail price of $59.99. If Fallout 3 gets the same top-tier treatment, expect a matching price tag.
According to reliable insiders like Jez Corden and Nate The Hate, updated versions of both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas are absolutely real. We just have to survive the wasteland a little longer before they finally surface.
