Halo Studios announced that Halo Infinite’s next major update will be its last. Launching on Nov 18, here’s what fans can expect.

Halo Infinite Operation Infinite

It’s been a big year for Halo Studios. While excitement is high following the reveal of Halo: Campaign Evolved, fans who stuck around Halo Infinite face the beginning of the end. The studio announced that the next major update, launching on November 18, will be the game’s last “currently planned” update. But we all know what that means. It’s the end.

Halo Infinite’s Next Major Update Will Be Its Last

During Halo’s November Community Livestream, the studio announced that Halo Infinite will get a major update on November 18th. This news, however, is a double edged one. It’s nice to see a big update coming but unfortunately, it’s the last one too. While the team worded it “last major content update currently planned”, we all know what that means. It’s the end.

The game launched in December 2021 and have to say, it wasn’t great. In fact many Halo fans were disappointed, for example, in lack of biomes, uninteresting open-world, even how you earn XPs and choosing modes. Over the years though, it did redeem itself, somehow. And it’s still Halo so it’s always going to be sad to hear one reaching the end of the line.

But before that, we can get excited for what’s coming. And there’s a LOT.

What’s in Operation: Infinite?

Launching on November 18, Operation: Infinite marks the final major update for Halo Infinite. Players can expect a 2X boost to both Career Rank progression and SP rewards. The update also introduces a 100-tier Operation Pass (free for all players and available indefinitely), along with a Premium Pass offering five exclusive armor sets, six new weapon models, and more than 30 customizations.

In total, eight unique armor sets can be earned, from the Forerunner-inspired Adamant to the fierce Sangheili Serpin. On top of that, over 200 previously unreleased customization items arrive in The Exchange, featuring new coatings, visors, charms, and attachments including returning favorites from Halo 5: Guardians.

Beyond cosmetics, Operation: Infinite adds new content for both casual and competitive players. A festive “Yuletide” map brings holiday chaos to Husky Raid and Super Husky Raid playlists, while the all-new “Vacancy” map joins the Ranked Arena rotation. The update also launches a new season of Ranked play, complete with fresh rewards and rotating modes.

While Operation: Infinite is the last “currently planned” major update, Halo Infinite isn’t disappearing. The studio confirmed ongoing support through rotating challenges, seasonal Ranked resets, and community-driven events well into next year.
