It’s been eight months since Silent Hill 2 Remake launched but the game hasn’t faded from conversation one bit. The remake saw a strong debut, with impressive sales and a warm reception from the community. While there have been some recent discussions around its performance on PS5 Pro, the excitement around the title has hardly slowed down. Add to that the upcoming Return to Silent Hill movie set to release later this year.
Now, the spotlight is back on the game thanks to a new rumor: a DLC announcement may be just around the corner.
Silent Hill 2 Remake DLC Rumor
According to a post on X by well-known leaker Dusk Golem, a DLC for Silent Hill 2 Remake is on the way and may be revealed in the coming days. Say what you will about his Resident Evil track record, but when it comes to Silent Hill, he’s been pretty accurate with previous scoops.
In his post, Dusk Golem claimed that development on the DLC had already started even before the remake was released, suggesting this was always part of Bloober Team’s content roadmap. While there’s been no official confirmation or teaser from Konami, the leaker is adamant that, based on his sources, the DLC is “100% happening.”
Perhaps most exciting is the possibility that the DLC could be “Born From A Wish”, a name that longtime fans will instantly recognize. Originally included in the 2001 version of Silent Hill 2 as an extra scenario.
I had heard Bloober were working on it back before SH2R released, but hadn’t heard about it for a while. However, I got more filled in today, and apparently still very much on and aiming to release before the end of the year.

Dusk Golem didn’t provide an exact reveal date, but he hinted that the announcement could drop as soon as this Sunday during the Xbox Games Showcase. He also suggested that the event might include news of an Xbox version of Silent Hill 2 Remake, which hasn’t yet been confirmed by Konami.
If this turns out to be true, it’s a huge win for Silent Hill fans. A return to Born From A Wish, combined with potential platform expansion, would continue the remake’s momentum in a big way. This is an exciting rumor and hopefully one we’ll be confirming very soon.
