Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift (GK2) is the new installment in the racing go-kart series featuring Garfield and his gang. A series initially developed by Artefact Studio and published by Microids. Now, the development is handled by Eden Games. The first title launched in November 2013 on PC and Nintendo 3DS, but was heavily criticized for its unoriginal Mario Kart-like gameplay.
Quickly becoming a meme thanks to the satirical response from users, with a sequel in Furious Racing released in 2019 for PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch. It improved on some critical points of the original but continued the meme streak. Buy Garfield Kart – Furious Racing and challenge your friends to crazy races with the cat who hates Mondays!
The Unexpected Announcement of Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift
In an unexpected surprise from Microids, we have the announcement of Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift. The new racing go-kart game featuring the famous Garfield and his friends. The official announcement was made on June 3, 2025, following the game’s rating news in Australia from mid-May 2025.
An unexpected third chapter this time developed by Eden Games, accompanied by the teaser that has been hidden (unlisted) since May 28, 2025 on the publisher’s YouTube channel. Confirming the return of Garfield & Co on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC on September 10, 2025.
Garfield Kart 2: All You Can Drift – What the Game Offers and Expectations
Along with the teaser, the team also opens the official game pages on various platforms. Sharing some information about it. GK2 offers a fun and colorful racing game featuring the iconic cast of the series, including:
- 3 Universes: Featuring tracks inspired by 3 different universes, including mystery scenes, rodeos, and pirates.
- Characters: The character roster includes the ever-present Garfield, along with Odie, Jon, and many others. Each with a unique personality, making each race special.
- Multiplayer: With an online multiplayer mode for up to 8 players, and 4-player split-screen mode.
- Customization: The option to customize your go-kart, showing off your style with various parts like wheels, bumpers, and spoilers in different colors and designs.
An interesting note is that the team at Eden Games has a somewhat mixed track record, with the terrible 2008 PC port of Alone in the Dark, and more recently, 2023’s Smurfs Kart and 2024’s Cosmic Royale. This leaves us with the impression that the game is aiming to continue the meme tradition of the series. However, the Gear.Club Unlimited series, an original IP from the team, does offer a competent racing experience.
