Forspoken is an action-adventure RPG primarily focused on fast-paced magic battles developed by the Japanese studio behind Final Fantasy XV, Luminous Productions. Step into the shoes of Frey Holland an average new yorker trying to survive in the city, until that is when she has whisked away with a portal to the breathtaking land of Athia additionally, a sentient magical bracelet has inexplicably found itself in her wrists allowing her to perform powerful spells. She later learns that Athia was once controlled by powerful matriarchal sorcerers called Tanta’s, but a powerful blight cursed the land maddening animals and humans it affected, either by sheer luck or destiny for some reason she is not affected by it. With her unique circumstance the last remaining citizens of Athia begged her for her to help, she reluctantly agrees.
Forspoken is absolutely fantastic. With all the spells you can unlock, the gear you can upgrade, the fights, the bosses, and a storyline that rivals the best video game stories, this isn’t a return to form for Square-Enix, it’s a testament that they still got it, and will have it for a very, very long time.
Forspoken is an incredible title. Although the story suffers from being a bit too generic, the gameplay is inventive, magical, and an absolute blast. This is a game I’ll come back to again and again just to move around and exist in the fascinating fantasy world. Forspoken is an exciting leap forward for action games, and I can’t get enough of it.

It’s undeniable that Forspoken is not a great game, but definitely one that hurt the most coming from Square Enix, who has more or less released some impressive titles, story wise, in the last decade.
Subsequent to the developers inadequacy the studio has even shut down, as not being able to deliver the hoped result nor fix the game, as its very core is undeniably mediocre, as not only it’s unimpressive visually (despite the decent gameplay) but also runs poorly on PS5 beefy hardware.
Forspoken is an action RPG with magic that’s for user for combat and traversal. The game was not well received mainly due to poor story, characters and dialogue. I haven’t played yet but the gameplay appears to have its good moments with some nice combat scenerios but overall a bit dull in my opinion. I’m planning on getting it unless it’s with a very big discount
Forspoken unfortunately falls short of the high expectations I had for it. While the world of Athia is visually stunning and the traversal mechanics are smooth, the overall gameplay experience feels lacking and uninspired.
The combat, in particular, feels shallow and repetitive, failing to provide the depth and excitement that was promised. The story, despite the potential for a captivating narrative, falls flat with a lackluster plot and underdeveloped characters. The voice acting, including Ella Balinska’s performance, is one of the few highlights, but it alone cannot salvage the overall experience. Technical issues and performance problems further hinder the enjoyment of the game, leading to frustration and disappointment.
