Rainbow Six Siege X faces another hacking incident, early in January 2026. Ubisoft acknowledges unofficial ban notifications being sent.
No, you read that right. We’re not talking about the December incident, we’re talking about the January 2026 one.
Yesterday, some reports of another breach started to surface but since we saw that fairly early, it didn’t look reliable. Not until it snowballed again to thousands of players reporting it, that the news started to get coverage. And while many probably think that it’s still not true, well, Ubisoft, without saying there’s been a breach, confirmed that unofficial ban notifications were being sent to players. Plus more.
Rainbow Six Siege X Hack January 2026
2025’s MongoBleed hacking incident is still fresh on all our minds and here we are again with another breach. Just when the team thinks they’ll get a break, comes another hacking incident which, as of writing, has not yet been fully resolved.
Yesterday, some gamers started to post on social media about another possible hacking. Many disregarded it and thought it was just another of those annoying “standard” glitches. However, more reports came in and some Global Status results started to show “4 Unplanned Issues.”
Basically, some players got ban notifications and some got weird statements on their banners. There’s also reports of synchronization errors and server disconnects, which can be remembered as also present during the December breach.

Since Rainbow Six Siege X experienced a pretty traumatic hacking last week, the team was quick to acknowledge it this time, possibly trying to ease some gamers who would think to just plain out uninstall the game. Which may have unfortunately. But then again, can anyone blame them? It doesn’t feel THAT secured having two incidents in a span of a week.
The team posted on their official X account that ban notifications received between 1 PM EST and 5 PM EST on January 4th are not official and can be disregarded. The latter is a bit hard to do considering current events and for safety measures.
As for the banner massaging, that has been disabled for now until the team resolves the issues, alongside the reported synchronization errors and server disconnects.
For concerned players with regards to credit, no issues have been reported for that. One X user, sweetmg03, did report an incident but the team quickly responded that it may just be a visual error and advised to restart the game.
If you received a ban notification between 1 PM EST and 5 PM EST on January 4th, this was not official and can be disregarded. Note that receiving these false notifications does not result in a real ban. The esports blue banner has also been temporarily disabled following reports…

Ubisoft has had a tough year last year and 2026 doesn’t look all that bright right now. Because well, Rainbow Six Siege X, one of the company’s major titles, is currently under siege.
