What is Warhammer Blood Bowl?
Warhammer Blood Bowl is the ultimate digital adaptation of the popular tabletop game, expanding and replacing Blood Bowl 3. It will be released in Fall 2026 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, featuring updated mechanics, improved accessibility, and comprehensive seasonal support.
Slitherine has taken over publishing duties from Nacon, tasking original developer Cyanide with refining the experience. The goal is to create a living, evolving ecosystem that remains faithful to the tabletop source material.
Marco Alessandro Minoli, Director of Publishing at Slitherine, emphasized the company’s commitment to strategy fans. He noted that the team intends to support the game long-term, similar to their work on Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector.
The pitch is heating up, and we're looking ahead.

A Roster of 26 Factions and New Rules
The shift to this new edition brings significant structural changes, most notably the implementation of the Third Season Edition ruleset. This ensures the digital experience perfectly mirrors the most recent physical tabletop updates through September 2025.
Players can expect a massive roster of 26 factions available right at launch. This lineup introduces two highly requested teams to the digital pitch: the Khemri Tomb Kings and the Bretonnians.
By bringing these classic factions back, Cyanide aims to offer unparalleled tactical variety. The development team has committed to ensuring no content from previous iterations is left behind in the transition.

What is the New Rumble Mode?
Rumble mode is a fast-paced, 7-a-side variant designed for 30-minute matches on a smaller pitch. It retains the tactical depth and brutal gameplay of the standard game while offering a quicker, more accessible format for players short on time.
Fans can try this new mode during a free Steam demo expected to arrive this Summer. Coming later than the original March 18 to March 25, 2026 announcement as result of the publisher change. The demo features limited content, including one PvP and one PvE mode.
Players will be able to test pre-built teams from five distinct factions. The available rosters for the demo should include Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Necromantic Horrors, Khorne, and the Old World Alliance.
Free Upgrade for Blood Bowl 3 Owners
Transitioning to a new game often means leaving past progress behind, but Slitherine has opted for a consumer-friendly approach. The publisher confirmed a seamless transition for the existing community.
Anyone who currently owns Blood Bowl 3 on PC or console will receive Warhammer Blood Bowl as a free upgrade. This means the active player base will not be split when the new title launches.
Furthermore, all previously purchased teams and cosmetic items will carry over to the new game. This ensures that the investments made by the community over the past three years are fully protected.
