When does the Vampire Survivors Legacy of the Bloodmoon expansion launch?

Developer Poncle will release the Vampire Survivors Legacy of the Bloodmoon expansion on August 28, 2026.

The studio announced this launch date alongside a new teaser trailer featuring the character Malice Bloodmoon. This release window fulfills the initial promise Poncle made during the June 2026 Summer Game Fest presentation.


New Characters, Weapons, and the Red Moon Manor Stage

The Legacy of the Bloodmoon expansion builds directly upon the foundation of the previous Legacy of the Moonspell DLC. Poncle confirmed that the update adds over 10 new characters to the playable roster.

Confirmed figures include Malice Bloodmoon, Calogero Bloodmoon, the ancient founder Baal’Thasar, Ashtart, and the trapped king Sargon. Players will also access over 16 new weapons and evolutions. Official patch details list tools like the Scarlet Needle, Incineration, Blacken Firmament, and the highly traditional FireBall.

These new abilities will help players survive the Red Moon Manor. Poncle designed this new XL stage as the ancient fortress of the Order of the Red Moon. Furthermore, the developer added eight new music tracks to accompany the gameplay experience.

Legacy of the Moonspell Updates and Platform Availability

Alongside the new expansion, Poncle will update the original Legacy of the Moonspell expansion with additional content. The developer also plans to apply a permanent price reduction to that specific older DLC package, lowering the barrier of entry for the connected storyline.

Vampire Survivors: Legacy of the Bloodmoon expansion will launch simultaneously across all supported hardware. Poncle distributes the game on Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, mobile devices via iOS and Android, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
