The Witcher 4 is ready to move into full production. That’s according to CD Projekt Red’s recent financial report.
CDPR joint CEO Michał Nowakowski revealed in a press release that “work on Polaris is progressing – its development team is nearing a major milestone which will mark the end of the preproduction phase”. CD Projekt Red is also continuing work on Project Orion, the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, Project Sirius, the Witcher spin-off, and a new IP codenamed Hadar.
The Witcher 4, codenamed Project Polaris, was announced in October 2022. With very little to officially go on from CDPR, the game is a beginning of new saga for the Witcher series.
Recently, we got news from Doug Cockle, the voice actor for Geralt, that the Witcher features in the game but not as main character. We also know it’s developed in Unreal Engine 5 rather than the company’s own engine.
We have no exact release date, with CDPR confirming it won’t come until 2025 at the earliest. Fans will hope it is next year as The Witcher 3 will turn ten years old in May 2025.

Awesome news, can’t wait to see what CDPR has in store for us in this new Witcher game in terms of mechanics and story. I really like the fact that they’re including Geralt as a character and makes me wonder which of the endings from Witcher 3 they decided to go with as universe lore for this one.
