Abiotic Factor (AF) is the survival crafting experience in first person by the team at Deep Field Games. Published in collaboration with Bluestack and with development that started back in 2021. After the Sandswept Studios team closed, who was behind Unfortunate Spacemen, part of the team founded Deep Field Games.
The team’s first new project was known as Project Vacuum and finally revealed as AF. With the Early Access launch on May 2, 2024. Offering a co-op adventure where you play as scientists from the secret GATE organization, surviving anomalies, mysterious military forces, and monsters. Abiotic Factor Exits Early Access – 1.0 Launch Date
Deep Field Games officially announces the release date for Abiotic Factor. Following the release of the Dark Energy update in early February 2025. Revealing the official launch date of June 26, 2025 for the long-awaited 1.0 version of the sci-fi survival and crafting experience in co-op with a final Early Access exit on July 22, 2025 and the debut on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Announcement accompanied by the Official Trailer. Showing the game’s history since its Early Access launch, followed by Crush Depth and the latest Dark Energy. With the team preparing for the official launch with the arrival of the new Cold Fusion chapter. Adding new gameplay features, enemies and new gameplay areas.
Abiotic Factor – New Features in Version 1.0
With the announcement of the release date and the arrival of AF on consoles, the Deep Field Games team updated the game’s roadmap in early June 2025. Confirming new details about the 1.0 launch coinciding with the Cold Fusion update, offering:
- Sector Residence: A new area within the GATE Cascade Research Facility, full of new anomalies and threats.
- The Praetorium: A mysterious sanctuary ruled by the Clericum, wandering the halls of the archives. The team recommends preparing well before exploring this area.
- Cubicles and Grid Snapping: The classic office cubicles are now available, with the added possibility to place them in a grid.
- R.A.I.N Shower: With the addition of new dangerous Anomalies, we now have an emergency decontamination shower.
And much more such as the Power Leeches resulting from an experiment gone wrong by Dr. Thule. Also the compact T4 Storage, and the Void Chest where resources stored will be accessible from every Void Chest. Plus many other new features and details that the team will unveil as the launch date approaches.
