When does STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions release?

STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions will officially launch in Early Access on June 11, 2026. The game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Additionally, a public playtest will open on June 4 across all supported platforms.

System Era Softworks and Devolver Digital have confirmed that the title will cost just under $30 at launch. The developers have stated that all progression from the June 4 public playtest will seamlessly transfer over to the Early Access build.

Furthermore, the game will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. It also supports Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming right out of the gate.

Co-op Exploration and the ESS Starseeker Hub

Building upon a franchise that has already attracted over 11 million players, this new installment shifts the focus toward cooperative multiplayer and structured expeditions. While solo play remains fully supported, the core design strongly encourages teamwork.

Players will operate out of the ESS Starseeker, a persistent social hub where crews can plan their drops down to the planet Tephra. This space station acts as the central progression area for upgrading equipment and interacting with other explorers.

The development team has emphasized that the game will feature no microtransactions or premium currencies. Optional cosmetic packs will be the only separate purchases available for players who wish to support the studio further.

Full cross-platform play and cross-progression are confirmed for launch, ensuring crews can easily connect regardless of their chosen hardware ecosystem.

What is on the STARSEEKER Early Access roadmap?

The Early Access roadmap for STARSEEKER includes monthly updates that will introduce endgame encounters, expanded narrative elements, and entirely new planetary regions. System Era Softworks plans to increase expedition complexity by adding dangerous threats and more challenging missions over time.

According to the official developer blog, the studio is prioritizing community feedback to refine gear balancing and progression systems. The goal is to make reputation paths and cosmetic rewards feel consistently engaging.

As the community completes global objectives, the ESS Starseeker itself will evolve visually and functionally. This interconnected progression system is designed to make players feel like active participants in a living, expanding space station.

The game will launch with robust localization, supporting nine languages including English, French, Japanese, and Simplified Chinese, ensuring a broad global reach during the initial Early Access phase.
