When Does Starsand Island 1.0 Launch?

Cozy life simulator Starsand Island officially exits Early Access on August 18, 2026. Developer Seed Sparkle Lab confirmed the full release date alongside a new feature showcase.

Initially launched in Early Access in February 2026 for PC and Xbox Series X/S, the 1.0 launch expands the game’s reach to PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. Subscribers accessing the title through Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass will retain full access to the 1.0 release without additional cost.

Seed Sparkle Lab also confirmed that digital pricing will remain steady at around $40 across all storefronts without a post-launch price increase.

What New Features Are in the 1.0 Update?

The biggest addition to the 1.0 release is a robust four-player online co-op mode. Players can now share the workload of island life, moving away from a strictly solo experience.

Activities like fishing off the coast, exploring ancient ruins, and building homesteads can all be done together. Participating in co-op yields a mode-specific currency, which players can redeem for unique rewards at a dedicated multiplayer shop.

Solo and social players also have plenty to look forward to. The relationship system has been expanded, with 19 NPCs receiving new quests at the three- and five-heart milestones. Additionally, the game’s 14 romanceable residents gain new dating activities. Players can now take their partners on picnics, fly kites, or play arcade games to deepen their bonds.

The Autumn Pumpkin Carnival

The 1.0 update introduces a brand-new seasonal event: the Autumn Pumpkin Carnival. This seasonal festival brings a unique storyline and event-exclusive quests to the island.

During the carnival, players can catch glowing jellyfish, cultivate festival pumpkins, and feed animals special treats to produce candy. Rewards for participation include exclusive outfits, makeup, emotes, recipes, and furniture.

Physical Editions and Post-Launch Outlook

While digital versions launch worldwide on August 18, physical editions for PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2 are scheduled for November 12, 2026. Pre-orders for physical copies opened on July 31 for around 40€.

The Xbox Series X/S version remains digital-only, aligning with recent physical publishing patterns for indie titles on Microsoft hardware.
