PLAYSTATION PLUS AND PLAYSTATION NOW TO BE COMBINED
Sources close to Sony’s project Spartacus say the company will reveal its plans this week.
Spartacus is Sony’s long-expected rival to Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass and will see PlayStation Now and PlayStation Plus combine for a single subscription.
Sony’s plan includes a multi-tier subscription, with the more expensive tier including demos and classic PlayStation games.
Unlike Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass, customers of PlayStation’s newest service will not have access to PlayStation launch titles from day one.
Sony will reveal the new service this week, as they look to compete with the Xbox Game Pass that now has more than 25 million subscribers.
Sony and PlayStation have led Microsoft and Xbox in console sales in recent years, but Microsoft’s streaming platform has proven to be a smash-hit with gamers.
