Series producer Motoi Okamoto has said in a recent interview that the upcoming Silent Hill f is not a Soulslike and that calling it one is “disingenuous.”

Okamoto was speaking to IGN when he revealed that, despite the game having a stamina meter, the feature was “pulled from classic Silent Hill titles.”

During the interview, Okamoto said that while Silent Hill f has particular combat mechanics, such as the stamina meter, they don’t make it a Soulslike, and that such features have been “part of action horror games for a very, very long time.”

Okamoto reiterated that the upcoming game is an action horror. In a previous interview, he said the developers had decided to focus more on action to bring in younger fans to the series.
