Silent Hill 2 Remake may finally be escaping PlayStation’s fog. With the PS5 exclusivity now over and fresh ESRB clues surfacing, Xbox fans could soon step into James Sunderland’s haunting nightmare.
A Chilling Return on the Horizon
It looks like Silent Hill 2 Remake is about to expand beyond PlayStation 5. After the PS5 exclusivity period quietly ended earlier this month, new evidence suggests that the psychological horror classic from Bloober Team and KONAMI is preparing for release on Xbox Series X|S — and possibly more platforms.

ESRB Listing Hints at Xbox Release
Once again, it’s the ESRB (Entertainment Software Rating Board) that has tipped off fans. A new entry for Silent Hill 2 Remake appeared on the official ESRB website, this time specifically mentioning Xbox Series X|S.
Earlier this month, a sharp-eyed fan discovered something intriguing on Bloober Team’s official site. On the Silent Hill 2 page, two empty slots appeared next to the Steam and PS5 logos — likely placeholders for additional platform versions.

Perfect Timing for a Halloween Reveal
All signs now point to an imminent announcement. With October 31st being a symbolic date for the series’ eerie atmosphere, many fans believe KONAMI could use Halloween as the perfect stage to confirm the Xbox and possibly Nintendo Switch 2 versions.
In early 2025, Silent Hill 2 Remake had already surpassed 2 million copies sold, proving that the appetite for survival horror is stronger than ever. And just recently surpassed 2.5 millions. Expanding to new platforms will almost certainly give the title another boost in sales and visibility.
Critical Acclaim and Continued Growth
Critically, the remake has been a major success — scoring 86/100 on PS5 and 87/100 on PC according to Metacritic. On Steam, more than 95% of 50,000+ reviews are positive, making it one of the most well-received horror remakes of recent years.
In Conclusion: What’s Next for Bloober Team
Looking ahead, Bloober Team isn’t slowing down. The studio recently confirmed that it’s now working on a remake of the original Silent Hill, currently deep in production. KONAMI also shared a development roadmap stretching into 2026, promising more entries and remakes for fans of the franchise. The question now is not if but when Xbox players will finally be able to step back into the fog.
