How Many Players Has Reanimal Reached?
Reanimal has officially surpassed one million copies sold across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. Embracer Group confirmed this milestone in their latest financial report, citing the horror adventure as one of their strongest recent new IP launches.
The title, developed by Tarsier Studios, known as the original developer behind the Little Nightmare series. And published by THQ Nordic, launched on February 13, 2026. It follows an orphaned brother and sister attempting to survive a flooded, nightmarish version of their island home.
Embracer CEO Phil Rogers specifically praised the development team, noting that they have captured the hearts and minds of players and established an IP with significant long-term potential. The game served as a key driver among new releases during the financial quarter.

What Are the Expansion Plans for Reanimal?
Tarsier Studios and THQ Nordic plan to release a main expansion for Reanimal titled “The Expanded World,” which will be divided into three distinct chapters. According to Embracer’s documentation, Chapter 1 is scheduled to launch in Q2 of FY 2026/27, placing its release window between July 1 and September 30, 2026.
This post-launch roadmap reinforces Embracer’s view of Reanimal as a franchise with long-term viability rather than just a standalone project. The publisher’s strategy focuses on active stewardship of premium franchises, and Reanimal’s early sales velocity secures its place in their future portfolio.
Embracer Group’s Broader Financial Takeaways
Embracer Group’s Q4 report covering January to March 2026 highlighted a complex transitional period. While net sales decreased by 24% to SEK 3,931 million, the company exceeded its full-year Adjusted EBIT forecast, reaching SEK 360 million for the quarter.
The strong performance of core IPs, primarily driven by Kingdom Come: Deliverance II and Reanimal, helped stabilize the PC/Console Games segment. The company also announced a strategic shift to build two focused businesses, including the planned spin-off of Fellowship Entertainment in 2027, to improve capital efficiency and IP management.
