With Patch 1.1 today, fishing arrived as a new core feature in Outbound. In total, there are three different fishing rods required for various areas. The fishing rods are primarily obtained via new download terminals. Additionally, there are new fishing huts in multiple biomes. Altogether, there are 32 collectible fish across all 4 biomes. The caught fish are gathered in the new Journal section. Furthermore, each fish can have a star rating from 0 to 5. The highest-rated fish is always saved in the Journal. However, a fish does not always bite; sometimes you only reel in scrap, which can contain extra litter or bottle caps.

Fish Tanks, Stairs, and Doors Expand Base Building

Yet the new fishing mechanic is only one part of the update. There is a second major segment of the update that focuses on new building options and more customization for the mobile home. Caught fish can be placed in fish tanks and displayed in the camper. There are four buildable fish tanks that serve as a habitat for the caught fish. Fish cannot be eaten and are strictly collectible and decorative items.



Additionally, 6 buildable stairs have been added to the game, allowing you to construct multi-story homes as an alternative to ladders. Some of these stairs must be researched first. Furthermore, there are 4 buildable doors that can be opened and closed. This allows a room to feel even more like home.
