Dragami Games Reveals the Return of Juliet Starling for TGS 2026

Dragami Games confirmed the first public appearance of the next mainline Lollipop Chainsaw installment. The upcoming title will headline the publisher’s exhibition during Tokyo Game Show 2026 in Chiba, Japan.

Publisher Dragami Games and Taiwanese partner NADA Holdings scheduled the public presentation following a year of development silence. The production companies initially announced the project in July 2025 alongside an anime adaptation.

Official brand ambassador PeachMilky will attend the exhibition dressed as protagonist Juliet Starling in a new costume design. The physical booth features an interactive photo zone with a life-sized chainsaw replica that emits authentic engine audio.

Where Can Players Test the New Lollipop Chainsaw Demo?

Attendees can play the brand-new Lollipop Chainsaw game at Tokyo Game Show 2026 from September 17 to September 21 at Makuhari Messe in Chiba, Japan. The playable demo features four dedicated kiosks located at the Sega Partners Corner inside the official Sega and Atlus exhibition booth.

Visitors who test the demo build will receive an original branded keychain while venue supplies last. Exhibition staff will also distribute promotional logo stickers to general attendees visiting the booth area.

The Dragami Games official announcement establishes Sega Corporation as the distribution partner across Japan and Southeast Asian markets. Distribution agreements for Western territories remain unannounced.

Is Original Creator Suda51 Working on the Sequel?

Original creator Goichi Suda and studio Grasshopper Manufacture are not involved in the new Lollipop Chainsaw sequel. Dragami Games and license holder NADA Holdings lead development independently under director Mr. Nasu, collaborating with JP Universe CEO Hajime Tabata while original writer James Gunn also remains absent from the project.

Dragami Games stated the internal development team retains several unnamed staff members who contributed to the 2012 original. The studio confirmed a production mandate focused on original gameplay mechanics without imposing external content restrictions.

JP Universe CEO Hajime Tabata joined the production effort as an external collaborator. Tabata previously served as COO of Luminous Productions and currently develops the OwnWorld game engine.

Tokyo Game Show Presentation Schedule and Stage Events

Dragami Games organized two dedicated stage presentations to present gameplay footage and reveal production milestones. The schedule provides international audiences with direct access to project updates.

The first presentation begins on Friday, September 18, running from 11:40 to 12:10 JST on the Sega Event Stage. The panel will introduce core gameplay concepts alongside appearances by promotional talent and voice cast members.

The second presentation takes place on Saturday, September 19, from 09:40 to 10:30 JST on the Tokyo Game Show Main Stage. Director Mr. Nasu and Hajime Tabata will showcase full in-game footage and deliver an unannounced project reveal.

Industry analysts also monitor Sony’s State of Play Japan broadcast on September 3. The digital showcase highlights Japanese third-party software and serves as a potential launchpad for an initial teaser trailer prior to the Makuhari Messe physical showcase.

Series Continuity and Platform Availability

The upcoming project follows the commercial release of Lollipop Chainsaw RePOP, which launched on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch in 2024 before arriving on Nintendo Switch 2 in May 2026. The updated edition introduced improved visual fidelity, higher resolution modes, and Joy-Con 2 gyro support.

Dragami Games has not yet confirmed the final title or target platforms for the new production. Complete platform availability and release windows will follow the stage panels at Tokyo Game Show.
