HYPERFUNK is the new action-adventure platforming game in development by Team Reptile. A small Dutch development studio founded in 2011 by Tim Remmers and Dion Koster. They debuted in 2013 with the acclaimed beat ’em up Megabyte Punch, followed in 2014 by the first Lethal League, and its sequel Lethal League Blaze in 2018, known for its strong Funk style.
Carrying on the theme with Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, initially revealed in 2021 as a Switch exclusive. But it launched on all platforms in 2023. A game that pays homage to the classic Jet Set Radio, receiving massive success. HYPERFUNK: The New Action Game from the Bomb Rush Cyberfunk Team
Following the huge success of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk, the small studio Team Reptile finally brings new updates. Coming back almost 2 years after BRC’s launch and unveiling HYPERFUNK for the first time. Their new action-adventure and platforming experience inspired by BRC that pays tribute to the famous Jet Set Radio. With a reveal that dropped on 19 September 2025.
The reveal came in the form of a Teaser that takes us to a new futuristic world where Graffiti and Tricks reign supreme. Bringing a new colorful adventure all about speed and freedom, building on what Bomb Rush Cyberfunk offered. But delivering a new, greatly improved experience with new mechanics.
Team Reptile: What We Know About HYPERFUNK
In the absence of the long-awaited return of Jet Set Radio for its 25th Anniversary in 2025, as announced by SEGA in 2023, Team Reptile decided not to wait. Revealing their own spiritual sequel to the series, following the major success of Bomb Rush Cyberfunk. With HYPERFUNK bringing some interesting new features, namely:
- Dynamic Style Battles: Where crews will fight over various territories in the city. All through dynamic combat and choices.
- Graffiti and Trick Challenges: A high-speed graffiti challenge. Where we’ll have 4 types of graffiti to place strategically. The bigger the combos, the faster you’ll go.
- Explore the City: With access to Skateboards, Skates, and BMX bikes to explore the city. Find new music tracks, new moves for our styles, and even new crew members.
With a story that will follow the crew known as MACH10 against the various crews in the city. Not to mention an Online Mode. Where we can meet new players or play together with our friends.
