The report details a full remake of the original 2002 game, codenamed Kingdom Hearts Relux. This isn’t a lazy upscale. The claim is that Tose Software—the studio behind Crisis Core Reunion—is rebuilding the game from the ground up.

The goal is specific. The leak suggests they aren’t chasing the hyper-realism of Kingdom Hearts 3 but are aiming for an “idealized memory” of the PS2 era. Think modern lighting and fluid combat, but with the colorful soul of the original intact.

Interestingly, this project reportedly started as a mobile game before pivoting to a full console release, reusing high-quality assets to hit a rumored Spring 2027 launch. There is good news for content hunters. We’re hearing about cut content finally appearing, specifically a Jungle Book world scrapped decades ago.

Even more enticing is the prospect of playable Riku segments, finally letting us see his side of the story while Sora was busy. If these leaks hold weight, we are looking at a massive Spring release followed by Kingdom Hearts 4 in late 2027 for the 25th Anniversary.


Switch 2: The Native Port We Deserved

While the remake rumors are heating up, the situation for Nintendo fans is finally looking up. Insider Nash Weedle has dropped a bombshell that the Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece collection is ready for a native release on the Nintendo Switch 2.

This is the fix we have been begging for. The history here is messy. The cloud versions on the current Switch were a disaster of input lag and connection drops, essentially robbing handheld players of the true experience.
