Developer Voidmaw released the major Into The Warp update for the cosmic horror roguelike platformer Katanaut on Steam. Update 1.2 introduces the punishing Warp 4 difficulty mode, a reality-bending level called The Warp, final boss Samaelix, a 270-node Katana skill tree, and the commencement of Season 5 leaderboards.
Katanaut players seeking extreme challenges can now unlock Warp 4 by defeating the final boss on Warp 3. This difficulty reverses the entire space station layout. Five distinct Warp elites—Crushfiend, Riftclaw, Shivfiend, Shockmaw, and Warpmass—stalk players throughout the run.
These enemies scale aggressively as their health depletes. Reaching the level eight elevator triggers a detour into The Warp. This procedural environment leads directly to Samaelix, the Lord of the Warp.
How Does the Katana Skill Tree Work?
The Katana Skill Tree features over 270 unlockable nodes accessible directly from the weapon rack. Players spend Void crystals and Boss orbs to customize weapon stats, activate keystones with tactical trade-offs, and weave up to 25 simultaneous upgrades to drastically alter combat mechanics.

Season 5 Begins
