Killing Floor 3 is almost here, and many are expecting a successful co-op experience, just like Helldivers 2 was in 2024.

Check out the reveal of Killing Floor 3’s Gameplay!

After Helldivers 2: Killing Floor 3 Could Be the Next Co-Op Smash Hit

Killing Floor 3 (KF3) is the new chapter of Tripwire Interactive’s zombie co-op survival experience. A series that started with the first game in 2005 as a mod for Unreal Tournament 2004, then released as a standalone game in 2009. With the second game launching in Early Access in 2015 and the full release on November 18, 2016.

A highly praised series thanks to its fun co-op gameplay. Featuring the classic wave system where hordes of Zeds (the zombie equivalent) attack players. Offering a good variety of enemies with different abilities and levels of danger. Completing a round and eliminating Zeds rewards you with Dosh (money) to buy better weapons and ammo.

Killing Floor 3 – Key Features of the New Chapter

The reveal of Killing Floor 3 happened on 22nd August at Gamescom 2023. Throughout 2024, we saw many trailers, including the first look at the gameplay in June. From what was shown, the new KF3 keeps the classic formula of the series, with many gameplay additions and improvements to the main experience. These include:

  • Co-op: The main attraction of the series, offering a PvE co-op game against hordes of Zeds. Using class abilities and working together to complete levels.
  • Gameplay: Classic Zed waves on both fixed and changing locations. With various enemies doing everything they can to overwhelm the Survivors.
  • Customization: You’ll unlock new abilities as you level up, and also customize the look of your favorite character.
  • Weapons: As always, there will be a wide variety of weapons, from classic firearms to more sci-fi or unusual ones. Some new additions like the Explosive Bow are already included.
  • Gore Effects: Zeds will be more detailed than ever, with a special focus on dismemberment. Expect more options and points of dismemberment compared to KF2.

Killing Floor 3 will run on Unreal Engine 5, bringing some of the main features of the new engine, especially its graphical fidelity. There will certainly be new updates in terms of weapons, characters, and a new type of Zeds. These will join the return of classic enemies like the Scrake, Fleshpound, and even Bosses, as shown in the trailer at The Game Awards 2024.

Killing Floor 3: Latest News

We’ve got some exciting news about the new Killing Floor 3. We know from an official blog response that Killing Floor will not have an Early Access period. This means the game, scheduled for release in March, will launch with a fully completed base experience. As usual, we can expect a regular stream of new content, including maps, characters, weapons, and possibly cosmetic DLCs. The pre-order bonuses include:

  • Flatfline Tactical Bundle: Weapon skin, charm, and nametag
  • Clamefield Patrol Character: Skin for the 6 characters.

Also, from the latest trailer, revealed at The Game Awards 2024, we got confirmation of a Closed Beta. This will likely take place around February, with a March 2025 release date. However, we don’t know if access will be available to everyone or only to those who pre-order the game, which is rumored to cost around $39.99.
