Forza Horizon 6 Overhauls Festival Playlists And Adds Stunt Party Mode

Playground Games design director Torben Ellert recently detailed new progression systems and race types coming to the festival

Playground Games has provided substantial new details regarding Forza Horizon 6 ahead of its May 19, 2026 launch. Design Director Torben Ellert hosted a comprehensive Q&A session on the official Forza Discord server.

The discussion yielded concrete data on the game’s updated multiplayer architecture, revised reward structures, and the scale of its endgame map features.

Key Takeaways: The Quick Answer

  • Touge Battles introduce dedicated 1v1 mountain pass races in single-player and rotating online matchmaking.
  • The Festival Playlist overhaul removes permanent FOMO by cycling missed reward cars into a dynamic aftermarket system.
  • Reaching max rank unlocks Legend Island, an endgame zone that hosts the 50-mile Goliath endurance race.

How do Touge Battles work in Forza Horizon 6?

Touge battles in Forza Horizon 6 are dedicated one-on-one races located at five specific mountain passes across the map. In single-player, players challenge parked opponents at the start of each route at any time. An online championship will also offer continuous, rotating 1v1 matchmaking across these five tracks.

These head-to-head events operate entirely independently of standard festival progression. This structural decision allows players to focus heavily on mountain pass racing without being forced to complete unrelated campaign milestones.

The Revamped Festival Playlist and Aftermarket Cars

The progression economy is receiving a significant overhaul to respect player scheduling. Accessing the Festival Playlist requires roughly one hour of initial gameplay to unlock the main Horizon Festival.

Crucially, Playground Games is moving away from the highly restrictive reward structures of previous entries. Cars featured in expired weekly playlists will not be locked away indefinitely. Instead, these vehicles will eventually cycle into the game’s new aftermarket car system.

Aftermarket vehicle spawn locations are geographically fixed across the map, but the active inventory varies dynamically for each individual player. Developers noted that while standard playlist cars will circulate here, specific Forza Edition vehicles will retain their extreme rarity.

Legend Island, Stunt Party, and the 50-Mile Goliath

Reaching the maximum rank within the Horizon Festival grants players access to an exclusive endgame zone known as Legend Island. This secluded area features its own dedicated festival outpost and specialized high-tier events.

Most notably, the island serves as the official starting line for the Goliath—the franchise’s signature endurance race—which now spans an impressive 50 miles (80 kilometers).

The Discord Q&A also confirmed several naming conventions and roster updates for existing modes. The cooperative public map events previously known as Forzathon Live have been rebranded as Stunt Party. Furthermore, players dropping into the battle royale Eliminator mode will now start their matches driving a 1984 Honda City.
