Forspoken Delayed Again, Has New Release Date

Square Enix has again delayed Forspoken and set a new release date for early 2023.

WHEN DOES FORSPOKEN RELEASE?

Square Enix has announced Forspoken, a new action RPG from Luminous Productions, is delayed again and will now release in early 2023.

Announcing the decision on Twitter, the developer said, “As a result of ongoing discussions with key partners, we have made the strategic decision to move the launch date of Forspoken to January 24, 2023.”

It’s a big blow to those waiting for the game, but Square Enix says, “All game elements are now complete, and development is in its final polishing phase.”

It seems the decision to delay Forspoken is not because it’s not ready, but instead, they are concerned sales may be low releasing it in October.

We expect to know more about Forspoken later this summer when Square Enix has promised to share more about the game.

WHAT IS FORSPOKEN ABOUT?

Forspoken follows Frey Holland, a girl from New York who is suddenly trapped in the fantasy world of Athia and forced to find a way home with the help of her new companion, Cuff.

Frey has new magical abilities, and she will need them if she’s going to navigate the dangerous open world and defeat the corrupted monsters hunting her.

Forspoken has a great cast of voice actors, too, with Frey played by Ella Balinska from Charlie’s Angels and Jonathan Cake from Empire playing Cuff.

FORSPOKEN RELEASE DATE?

Forspoken is now set to release on January 24, 2023, for PS5 and PC.
