Last month, Canadian retailer PNP Games listed July 10 as the release date for Elden Ring Tarnished Edition. However, Bandai Namco and FromSoftware have now officially announced that the official Nintendo Switch 2 launch date is August 28, 2026.
The Tarnished Edition includes the complete Elden Ring experience, featuring both the base game and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion. In addition to that, players will receive several new content exclusive to this release.

Among the additions are two new starting classes, three new appearances for Torrent, and four new armor sets. Each armor set also comes with a new melee weapon. As of writing, fans have already identified three of the new weapons shown in promotional materials. These include a new Light Greatsword, a new Curved Greatsword, and another Greatsword that bears a striking resemblance to the Mirrah Greatsword from Dark Souls II. The fourth weapon has yet to be officially revealed.
Since the Tarnished Edition includes not just cosmetic but actual weapons to be used in the game, Bandai Namco confirmed that PC, PlayStation, and Xbox players will also be able to purchase the content separately through the paid Tarnished Pack DLC. The DLC is scheduled to launch on the same day as the Switch 2 version, August 28, 2026.
