When is the Control Resonant release date?
Control Resonant will officially release on September 24, 2026. Remedy Entertainment confirmed the launch date during the latest Sony State of Play broadcast. The action role-playing sequel will be available globally on current-generation hardware, specifically the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Windows PC.
Following years of development, the highly anticipated sequel shifts the focus away from the Oldest House. The official Steam announcement highlights that while the release date is firmly set, the narrative mysteries surrounding the Faden siblings remain deeply intertwined.
A New Protagonist in a Warped Manhattan
The brutalist confines of the Federal Bureau of Control have given way to the sprawling, distorted streets of New York. Control Resonant dramatically shifts the franchise dynamic by placing players directly into the shoes of Dylan Faden, previously a central antagonist corrupted by the Hiss.
Forced out of confinement, Dylan must navigate a reality-bending version of Manhattan to stop a new cosmic entity. He is armed with the Aberrant, a new shapeshifting weapon, and gravity-manipulating abilities designed to counter enemies capable of altering reality itself.
According to Mikael Kasurinen, Co-Creative Director at Remedy, via the official PlayStation Blog, the sequel turns the established formula upside down. Jesse Faden remains a critical narrative presence, but Dylan’s search for his sister and his redemption arc drive the core experience forward.

What is included in the Deluxe Edition?
The Digital Deluxe Edition of Control Resonant includes the base game, exclusive digital collectibles, and cosmetic outfits. Most notably, PlayStation 5 owners who purchase this premium tier receive a 48-hour early access window, allowing them to begin playing ahead of the global launch.
Remedy Entertainment is self-publishing the title and has opted for a highly competitive pricing structure. The standard edition is priced at just under $60, bucking the recent trend of higher-priced premium releases. The Deluxe Edition, available for around $70, offers substantial additions.
Players who upgrade to the Deluxe tier will receive the following bonuses:
- 48-hour early access (PlayStation 5 only)
- Digital artbook and original soundtrack
- Untapped artifact wallet and starter resource bundle
- All standard pre-order bonuses (Hiss Corruption outfit, Occult outfit, Pickpocket’s Tool)
Control Resonant represents Remedy Entertainment’s most expansive project to date, evolving the surreal franchise into a full-fledged action RPG. With a grounded release schedule and a complex narrative centering on the Faden siblings, the studio is setting high expectations for the fall gaming season.
