Filled with epic boss encounters and memorable battles, RE5 provides a thrilling ride, supported with enough extra content to keep the game interesting for a long time. The inability to move and shoot, as well as the necessity of inventory management, may turn of some of gamers, but the rest of us will be enjoying the co-op for a long time to come.

While the series may be a different entity now than it was over a decade ago, it has evolved and changed, yet still does superb at delivering an interesting and deep story with exceptional production value. This change is sure to frustrate some, but on the other hand it is also sure to bring in new players which are always welcomed to any title or genre.

This review has been quite negative but that’s unavoidable when you’re discussing a good game that follows on from an incredible one. Obviously we wish Resident Evil 5 had achieved more but the bottom line is Capcom has created a solid sequel that is well worth the sticker price. Gorgeous visuals will assault your eyeballs, a great range of co-op options make it a very robust multiplayer experience and an insane wealth of unlockables will keep hardcore fans (like me) replaying it umpteen times.
