The player-summoning cooperative gameplay, corpse-run death system, shortcut-rich levels, and enemy-respawning checkpoints will all feel familiar. However, Nioh is very much its own beast and is filled with highly technical action and stronger narrative elements than the Souls titles.
Nioh’s versatile and rhythmic action combat makes getting through each mission worthwhile. Nioh offers twilight missions (harder versions of completed missions), clan battles, a Diablo 2-style loot grind, and a new game plus to tackle.
