F1 23 offers a more realistic experience. The AI behaves more boldly, and there’s less boredom on the track in solo mode. Multiplayer has been given a few new features, particularly in terms of race settings. Licenses have been updated and driving refined. In career mode, you can create your own driver and develop him to the level of a world champion, which is very satisfying. No revolution, but a number of welcome changes.
I think Codemasters is good at creating racing games, as they’ve released many popular titles before. In the F1 franchise, their main objective was to remain authentic and offer more realistic driving physics. Despite this, the game is still fun, even if it is difficult.
Compared to its predecessor, F1 23 is a step forward. It has improved both graphically and in terms of gameplay. Some players who have tried every opus have noticed that the career mode hasn’t changed much. But this in no way detracts from the experience.
F1 23 is a racing sim and the official video game of the 2023 FIA Formula One World Championship. Comparing to the previous year F1 title, this installment brings some new features like a narrative story mode, improved handling for controllers and some new race tracks. If you like F1 this should be the most complete and authentic experience so far, but if you already own the previous game it’s up to you if the improvements and additions are worth the price.
F1 23 is the sequel to F1 22, following the annual release of many EA Sports titles. Beware that F1 23 is mostly an updated version of the previous year release, which is first and foremost visible with the mostly untouched visual fidelity, definitely good but not much of an improvement compared to last year’s title.
Another untouched content is the Carrier Mode, featuring what is essentially the story mode implemented and highly appreciated in many sports title as of late. Where we’ll be able to create a character and a team, seeing his growth from a newbie onto a professional F1 driver, by either continuing with the team we initially joined or being hired by one of the renown official team. Moreover we’ll have a bit more stuff like managing the team for an optimal result, as well as manage the driver personal life on a manager/marketing level. This is for the most part an exact copy of last year’s Carrier Mode, so not much to see for those looking forward to this mode in particular.
Where other game makers work on a successor for several years, EA releases a new installment every year, which means that there is relatively little difference between versions and they also fix few bugs after release.
The previous version was heavily criticized for its poor feedback when losing traction, which made the car difficult to control. This has now been improved, but especially when playing with a controller. The people who play with a steering wheel seem less satisfied.
