A single-player RPG based on the Sword Art Online universe, focusing specifically on the first 2 floors of Aincrad. The combat is inspired by the souls genre with stamina management and limited healing but has quite a bit more variety to it, thanks to the abilities and skills that can be unlocked. Echoes of Aincrad is divided into zones with limited exploration and although it might have left many SAO fans disappointed, looks like a decent enough experience.
What I like about Echoes of Aincrad is the idea of progressing alongside with your partner, althought the game is single-player only. The graphics are beautiful, but it does seem that not all of the concepts were succesfully executed. Still, I'd like to try it out one day.
Reminds me a lot of code vein. Very excited that this will focus on an original story and cast. Can't wait.
A single-player SAO JRPG focused purely on surviving the floors of Aincrad with a custom hero is a dream come true. The combat mechanics and high danger factor from the demo make it a day-one buy ^^
Aincrad kinda feels like a merging of JRPG and western RPG and MMO mechanics. Looks ambitious but don't know if they can really pull it off.
