Yakuza 0 is still listed on GOG and currently on sale. Buy the original version of Yakuza 0 at 45% now until Feb 4th.

After nearly 2 months from its delisting, Yakuza 0, yes the original, is still on GOG. If you’ve missed it before it was replaced by Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut, now’s your chance. No one knows for sure until when it will be available on the platform plus, it’s 45% off until Feb 4th so there’s definitely an incentive to get it now.

Yakuza 0 Is Currently on Sale at GOG

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio announced in December that three of its Yakuza titles are getting delisted and replaced with its 20th Anniversary copies which are basically upgraded versions for newer consoles. By December 8th, the original versions of Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 were pulled from Steam, Playstation, and Microsoft Store.

Interestingly, there was no mention of GOG back then. It was uncertain if the omission was a mistake or if RGG and SEGA really had no plans of pulling it from the platform. Until now, no one knows for sure but as of writing, Yakuza 0 is still listed and even on sale at 45% off.

While Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut has merits of its own, let’s be honest, charging that much for a glorified remaster wasn’t friendly, to say the least. Even the discounted upgrade path was too much. Also, many fans were disappointed with the fact that the original had to be delisted basically forcing new players to buy the overpriced version.

Days like this, one would gladly say, thank God for GOG. Yakuza 0 is a great entry point to the series and if you’ve been wanting to but never gotten the chance, play the original now, the way it was originally intended.
