A new Battlefield 6 leak reveals the return of mud and dirt buildup on weapons, bringing back gritty realism from BF1’s combat

Here we are again at another Battlefield 6 leak. With one more month to go before the launch date, Redditors who participate in Battlefield Labs do not disappoint in making the wait more exciting. The latest leak? Mud and dirt buildup is back.

 

Battlefield 6 Brings Back Mud and Dirt Buildup on Weapons

It really does feel like EA learnt its lesson from Battlefield 2042. Another feature which it skipped is returning for Battlefield 6 and it’s making every longtime fan excited.

On the ground battle is grim, muddy, and chaotic. When you’re using that much firepower, rolling and hiding, in and around the rubble, something is bound to land on your weapons. And sure does in BF 6.

In a recent Reddit post, a 20-second footage shows that mud and dirt accumulate on weapons again, making the game feel more realistic. On top of that, one of the commenters also confirmed that even blood splatter is seen on the weapons when the player is shot. While this was seen in older BF games, it wasn’t in the BF6 open beta so it was a great surprise for everyone.

This feature was first seen on Battlefield 1 and was perfected (depending on who you ask) in Battlefield 5. Clearly those two versions have differences so it will be interesting if this feature for BF6 will differ too.
