Epic Games Store’s Free PC Games for This Week

The next Epic Games Store giveaway is set to begin Thursday with Out of Sight and TerraScape becoming available to claim for free. Both offer something quite different but TerraScape is the standout of this week’s lineup, especially for anyone who enjoys relaxed city-building and puzzle games.

This also marks TerraScape’s debut on the Epic Games Store. The timing is particularly good too as the game recently received an update that adds crossplay between Epic Games Store, Steam, and GOG players. The update also introduces shared leaderboards across all three platforms.

If you like taking your time with a game and planning each move, TerraScape is well worth picking up when the new freebies go live.

TerraScape Free Key on Epic

TerraScape blends city building and puzzle mechanics, letting you grow a settlement by carefully positioning buildings across an atmospheric landscape. You begin with a Keep and a deck of structures, then work out the best places to build based on nearby buildings, resources, and biomes. Good placement earns points and unlocks additional options, while certain combinations can create larger merged structures with useful bonuses.

There is no time pressure, so you can build at your own pace across several modes, including Kingdom Mode, scenarios, puzzle levels, weekly challenges, and Creative Mode. The game also supports multiplayer for up to four players in both co-op and versus modes. Its latest update adds crossplay between Epic Games Store, Steam, and GOG, allowing players on all three platforms to play together, while shared leaderboards put everyone’s scores on the same rankings.

Out of Sight Free Key on Epic

Out of Sight offers a darker, tension-driven puzzle adventure. You play as Sophie, a young blind girl who uses her teddy bear, Teddy, to see the world around her. The game’s unusual perspective is central to its puzzles, as Sophie must make her way through a dark mansion while relying on what Teddy can see to navigate the environment and avoid danger.

The mansion is also hiding a disturbing history that Sophie gradually uncovers as she searches for a way out. You’ll need to sneak, hide, and solve environmental puzzles while avoiding her captors, with small mistakes potentially giving away her position. The combination of stealth, puzzles, and its unusual perspective gives Out of Sight a very different feel from the other free game in this week’s lineup.

Before the new selection arrives on Thursday, October 8, you can still claim the current freebies. System Shock 2: 25th Anniversary Remaster and BURIED STARS remain available to add to your library until the switch happens at 8AM PT / 11AM ET / 4PM BST.
