Joe Musashi will face Dr. Eggman in the post-launch DLC for SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance!

SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance is the new title in SEGA’s Ninja-themed action series. A new chapter developed by the team at Lizardcube and announced at TGA 2023. We’ll be returning as Joe Musashi in a new 2D hack & slash adventure. Featuring a classic sidescroller style, paired with a hand-drawn graphical style.

SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance – SEGA Villains DLC Announced

Now less than 2 weeks away from the launch of SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance, the SEGA team has some news. Announcing on 18 August 2025 the arrival of a special DLC for the grand return of Joe Musashi. A DLC that will bring 3 Historic Enemies from SEGA Franchises to the new Art of Vengeance.

Unveiling the first Villain as none other than the iconic Dr. Eggman from Sonic the Hedgehog. As part of the add-on SEGA Villains DLC. Sold separately, it will also be available with the Deluxe edition of the game. The SEGA Villains DLC will debut post-launch, scheduled for early 2026.

 

SHINOBI: Art of Vengeance and The Speedrun Collab

The team will also soon reveal who the next 2 Guest Bosses will be in the highly anticipated new Shinobi. Meanwhile, the SEGA team is reminding us about the start of the special collab with Speedrun.com. Celebrating the launch of Art of Vengeance with a huge speedrun challenge.

Where fans can compete in the Ninja Legacy Challenge. Battling for the best times on the 1993 classic SHINOBI III: Return of the Ninja Master and by completing the Art of Vengeance demo. Competing for a prize of $5,000, with the event ending on 25 August 2025.
