With the upcoming Spring 2026 Roadmap, Evil Empire is shifting gears from bug fixes to massive, systemic overhauls, proving that the Prince’s journey in the world of roguelites is only just getting started.
Ubisoft and Evil Empire have unveiled a two-part expansion plan for Spring 2026, headlined by the “Breathless Update” in April and a mysterious “Endgame Update” in May.

What is included in the Breathless Update coming in April?
The Breathless Update is designed to “amp up and streamline” the experience for both veterans and new arrivals. The headline feature is the introduction of the Freeze element, a new status effect that allows you to lock enemies in place, creating windows for acrobatic finishers.
To keep the momentum high, Evil Empire is implementing a “faster pacing” initiative. This involves a substantial rework of the game’s first hour and the introduction of “quicker and tougher” versions of early-game biomes. You can also expect:
- Arena Mode: High-stakes combat zones to test your builds.
- Weapon & Tool Affixes: Deeper customization for your gear.
- The Flaming Horses: A brand-new tool (available early for some!) that summons a charging herd of spectral steeds to leave a trail of fire in their wake.
What does the May Endgame Update change in the Palace biome?
While the April update focuses on the flow of the game, the May “Endgame” Update is all about the destination. The Palace biome is receiving a total redesign to better suit the Prince’s endgame power levels.
The update introduces the Nyamtur Trials, a “risk and reward” system that layers additional challenges across all levels for those seeking greater spoils. Perhaps most exciting is the inclusion of Pets and a dedicated Parkour Mode.
While details on the pets remain under wraps, they are expected to offer passive or active support during runs, while the Parkour Mode will likely highlight the game’s 2D movement system, which is arguably its best feature.
