Age of Water is a new online adventure game set in post-apocalyptic Earth completely underwater. What is left of old structures like rooftops of high-rise buildings are now used as new settlements of other survivors.

You will explore this watery world, fight enemies, trade with others, and build your own boat. Being an MMO, you can team up with your friends to complete quests and challenges. Quests are important as it is one way to gather resources apart from scavenging the seabed and harvesting enemy boats and wreckage.

And to make things even more interesting, if you like someone else’s ship, you can take it if you defeat the owner in battle.




Age of Water was initially scheduled to release on Early Access in Steam on April 18, 2024. However, a few days before the said date, the devs made a last minute decision to delay the launch for a week to polish their new and improved voice-over. The game will now be available on April 15, 2024.

It is a short wait especially considering how long other games delay their launch but we can even make it feel shorter by playing the game early. Well, at least part of it. And the best part yet, it’s for free!

Short of a month before Age of Water initial release, the devs released the game’s prologue on Steam, titled The First Voyage. It does not only serve as a free trial for the game but it actually is the first part of the game’s story campaign.

Although the prologue is available on Steam, it still (like the full game) supports control from a gamepad.



According to the FAQs recently published by the devs, those who played Age of Water The First Voyage before getting the full game will carry over their progression and will start where they left off the story in the prologue.

And for those who have not played it and went straight with the full game, will still need to start the story campaign with it.
