Overthrown: Version 1.0 Launch Date Confirmed
Just under 10 months since its launch in late 2024, Maximum Entertainment brings new news on Overthrown. Confirming that Brimstone’s medieval fantasy co-op city builder is finally ready to leave Early Access. Confirming the launch of version 1.0 for 16 October 2025, already available on Steam and Xbox Series X/S.
Accompanied by the official trailer, taking us into the chaotic yet colorful world of Overthrown. With a fun open-world experience in a sandbox and city builder style. You’ll have to manage your kingdom amidst monsters and dangers, as well as build, upgrade, and expand your domain. Marking the game’s debut on PS5 as well.
Overthrown 1.0: What’s New in the Official Launch
A fantastic announcement from Maximum Entertainment and the Brimstone team. With an unexpected yet welcome official launch of Overthrown. Confirming the official launch in October, following the major August update, the Coastal Update. Version 1.0 brings:
- Flying Ships and Towers: With Flying Vessels taking center stage in the update. You can soar through the skies and attack bandits and enemies from above, but at a high mana cost. We’ll also have Cannon Towers for bombarding or defending.
- Camps and Outlaws: Notably, bandit and outlaw camps will be even larger. With the addition of 3 new enemies: the Scrapper as a repair unit, the Firestarter as a stealthy pyromaniac unit, and the Ringleader as the elite enemy of each camp.
- New Creatures and Levels: We have the new Devourer creature as an evolution of the Snappers, capable of devouring buildings and flying ships. Plus, 3 new levels that focus on various different biomes, like the Highland Plateau.
It also brings many other new features that we will learn more about as the launch approaches. And the team also reminds us that with version 1.0, there will also be a price increase from the base Early Access price.

A fantastic piece of news for a fun and chaotic City Builder in co-op for up to 6 players. It debuted in Early Access in late December 2024 on both Steam and Xbox, including on Xbox Game Pass.
