Today we are looking at a brand new indie game that has not even been released yet. Its name is Nocturne, and it is being developed by Pracy Studios, a small team of only seven people who have been working on the project for nine years.

Nocturne combines a story driven RPG inspired by Undertale with a unique combat system and over 100000 lines of dialogue. Instead of dodging attacks like in Undertale, players face every enemy through a rhythm game to win the fight.
A Digital Afterlife Full of Music
The story takes place thousands of years after the extinction of humanity. Your consciousness awakens in a digital afterlife, a world now ruled by artificial intelligence. Within this strange realm, confused creatures roam while a growing corruption spreads across the land. The main themes include life after death, digital existence, AI control, and corruption. Visually and narratively, the game blends pixel art with a melancholic and immersive atmosphere.
Nocturne Gameplay Between Rhythm and RPG
As the first project from Pracy Studios, the team wants to make a strong debut. Their goal is to create something innovative by fusing a classic RPG structure with a rhythm based combat system. Players can expect diverse enemies, cutscenes, leveling, and items typical of the genre. The developers also placed great focus on lore, featuring more than 100000 lines of dialogue with various characters.
During battles, rhythm mechanics take center stage. Blocks fall from above, and players must hit the correct key at the right moment to avoid taking damage. Unexpected moves can appear without warning, keeping every encounter dynamic and challenging. The game includes ten bosses, eight chapters, and one hundred and one songs. Impressively, the boss themes were recorded by a real orchestra.
An Arcade Mode adds extra replay value, allowing players to set high scores for individual songs and practice freely. This mode becomes available after defeating certain enemies. Multiple difficulty settings ensure accessibility for both new players and experienced rhythm fans.
Aesthetics Music and Atmosphere
Visually, Nocturne embraces a pixel art style with stylized characters that evoke a sense of retro charm. Each of the one hundred and one tracks has its own distinctive mood, and every enemy comes with a unique soundtrack. The ten boss themes were performed by the Slovak Orchestra, while the rest of the music was digitally composed. The combination of music, rhythm, and visual world design results in a dystopian atmosphere carried by the beat itself.
Nocturne Release Platforms and Outlook
Nocturne is expected to launch in the first quarter of 2026 on PC through Steam. A free demo is already available for players who want to experience the game early. For now, development is focused entirely on the PC version, with no console editions announced yet. Should the release perform well, additional platforms could follow later.
This title has the potential to become one of the indie highlights of 2026. By combining RPG gameplay with rhythm based combat, it offers a fresh approach to both genres. With more than ten hours of content, a rich variety of music, and battles that sound and feel powerful, Nocturne might turn into something truly memorable.
