Helldivers 2 Update: Blizzards, Sandstorms & Huge Weapon Rebalance

The team at Arrowhead Game Studios has released the new patch for the highly popular Helldivers 2. Patch 01.000.200, which introduces a slew of gameplay balances, affecting weapons, equipment, and stratagems, as well as new additions for a fresh gameplay experience.

Immediately followed by 01.000.201 which fixed one of the crash reasons when accessing the Acquisition menu.



Helldivers 2: What does patch 01.000.200 bring?

Patch 01.000.200, despite being a small number patch, is actually quite substantial, bringing new content, balances, and fixes to Helldivers 2. Among the new additions are:

  • Increased level cap to 150 from 50
  • Introduction of Sandstorms and Blizzards as weather conditions
  • Changes to: Retrieve Essential Personnel made less difficult with enemies’ spawn points farther away, increased difficulty for Destroy Command Bunkers with more objective zones
  • Operation Modifiers affecting Stratagem and Call in cooldowns are halved


New Balances, Changes, and Nerfs in Helldivers 2

Patch 01.000.200 also brings changes to weapons based on community feedback. We’re talking about both nerfs and buffs to in-game weapons, as well as enemies and armors.

Regarding Weapons:

  • Arc Thrower: Reload time increased to 1s, range reduced to 35m (from 50), increased Stagger
  • Slugger: Reduced Stagger, damage increased to 250 and Demolition Force. Adjustments to penetration damage.
  • Dominator: Increased damage to 300 and Stagger
  • Guard Dog: Restores all ammunition
  • Anti-Materiel Rifle: Damage increased by 30%
  • Breaker Incendiary: Damage increased to 20
  • Fire damage increased by 50% per tick
  • Liberator Penetrator: Now has a full Auto mode
  • Recoilless Rifle and Spear: Increase missile or rocket count from Supply Box by 1
  • Heavy Machine Gun: Rate of Fire in the highest mode lowered to 950 rpm

Stratagems, Enemies, and Helldiver:

  • Patriot Exosuit: Rockets will have penetrating power only on direct hit
  • Chargers: Normal attacks will deal less damage to the Exosuit
  • Bile Spewer and Nursing Spewer: deal less damage with Spit
  • The Bile Titan is immune to Stun
  • Shriekers cannot create Bug Breachers and will deal less damage when dead
  • Changes to Medium Armor with a 5% damage resistance increase and Heavy Armor with a 10% increase


Helldivers Patch 01.000.200 brings new fixes

The new patch also brings fixes to gameplay and some in-game interactions. Enemies will finally attack Exosuits, which have received a fix for random explosion damage and the ability to attack even when opening the minimap. The number of Automaton enemies will spawn correctly, where they were spawning more often. Improvements to the Hellpod to prevent players from getting stuck or deviating from the path.

We also have fixes related to the game, where on PS5 certain settings were not saved correctly upon restart. As well as regarding player invites, or friend requests made difficult by some random issues. In short, a substantial patch that brings many changes and fixes, although some problems already noticed by the community after not even a day have already been identified and will soon be fixed with the next patches.
