Assassin’s Creed Shadows: Official Reveal Confirmed for This Week

With an announcement on twitter, Ubisoft finally speaks again about the new Assassin’s Creed, already announced with a teaser in 2022 during the Ubisoft Forward conference. We not only have the confirmation of the name but also the date of the official game reveal, a date that is coming this week. A game of which we have some information and that seems to continue what started with Mirage, with a return to the origins.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows – The Reveal Date

Well, the date confirmed by Ubisoft is very close, with an announcement on 13 May 2024. Ubisoft indeed for 15 May 2024, at 9:00 AM PT (18:00 GMT+2). A date to mark for all fans of the series, especially as we will move in the Asian continent, of which we have only had a taste with some spin-offs of the series.

The announcement comes right on Twitter with a promotional image of a night of a huge hourglass in a typical contemporary street of Japan. Which indeed confirms the location of the new game.

What do we know about Assassin’s Creed Shadows

We already have quite a bit of information about Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The project was already known as Codename Red and presented by Ubisoft in 2022 as Assassin’s Creed Codename Red, showing in a red sunset a mysterious shinobi wielding a hidden blade.

We have some information from leakers that points to the Sengoku period during Oda Nobunaga’s conquest. And the rumors seem to focus precisely on Yasuke as a historical figure. A very particular historical figure as a man of African origins and the first to be liberated and elevated to the rank of samurai under the famous Daimyo. And alongside Yasuke seems to be the kunoichi Naoe Fujibayashi, daughter of Fujibayashi Nagato, one of the most renowned shinobi names. Given the historical period, we are certain that many famous names of the period will appear, and we will have another story linked to Yasuke, a rather prolific character with many works inspired by him. But we will discover more, especially about the gameplay, with the reveal on 15th May 2024.

Edit: The official announcement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows arrived on 15th May 2024, in the form of a Cinematic Trailer confirming what had been revealed by the leaks. Namely, the use of two protagonists, Yasuke the samurai of African origin, and the kunoichi Naoe. Offering a story from two points of view and with gameplay mixed between classic action style with Yasuke and a more shadowy one with Naoe. As well as the confirmation of the release date on 15th November 2024, so just 6 months away!
