Goblin Cleanup Release: Now Playable in Early Access on Steam

On September 18, 2025, the game Goblin Cleanup was released in Early Access on Steam. In this game, you’re not playing an adventurer entering a dungeon but seeing an adventure world from a completely different perspective.

Goblin Cleanup

You’re actually part of the Goblin Cleanup Crew, and your task is to get the dungeon back in shape before new adventurers enter. There are many exciting mechanics and varied maps. And you can even play the game in co-op — all details are here.

Goblin Cleanup Gameplay Overview

As mentioned, Goblin Cleanup is about restoring a dungeon. You can do it either alone or in co-op with up to four players, making it faster and more fun. Inside the dungeon, you must perform various tasks and try not to die.

You need to wipe up the blood scattered throughout the dungeon. You do this using a slime impaled on your pitchfork. If it absorbs too much blood, it dies, and you’ll need to get a new one. Machines supply new slimes, so don’t worry. You can dispose of old slimes in mimics. A mimic eats everything you feed it — whether that’s a slime or even your teammate.

You also have to feed the mimic the meat scraps lying around to restore order. Naturally, objects like chairs, tables, and flowers must be put back in their original places, and gold chests must be restocked. Additionally, you’ll need to light torches and reload traps — but be careful: overcharging them with magic makes them go wild.

And of course, you’re not immortal. If you step on a trap, you die. But that’s not the end of the level; you’ll respawn. However, your remains stay near a trap and must be cleaned up again using the mimic.

First Impressions & Feedback

The game has just launched a few hours ago and already has very positive reviews. Previously, there was also a demo version that went over very well. It’s no longer available, but there’s a 20% discount until October 2. Of course, being in Early Access, there are still some bugs. Also, levels currently don’t save, meaning if your PC crashes, all progress is lost.

I previously tested the game’s demo. It already had four different levels. Now there are 12 levels available at launch, with a total of 60 planned for the full release. The levels vary in length, but on average they take 1–2 hours in co-op with two players. That’s already over 10 hours of cleanup gameplay, and upon full release, there will be over 60 hours of content.

Conclusion: Why Goblin Cleanup Is Worth It Now

Goblin Cleanup already proves in Early Access that it’s more than just a gag game. With its unusual perspective as a dungeon janitor, numerous mechanics, and co-op mode, it already offers many hours of gameplay. While there are still bugs and missing features like saving, the extensive level design and ongoing development point to a promising finished product. If you’re looking for a unique co-op experience and want to have a laugh while cleaning a dungeon, you should check the game out now in Early Access.
