Day of the Shell (DotS) is a tactical roguelite game in development by Duper Games, the debut title from the small French indie studio based in Montpellier. The game is being published by Goblinz Publishing and was first announced on June 6th, 2024 during the Guerrilla Collective.
In the game, you’ll play as a monster hunter. You’ll use your revolver to fight back the wrath of the gods who have thrown the world into chaos. The game is slated for release in Q3 of 2025. Add Day of the Shell to your List and activate the alert to get the best prices at launch!
Day of the Shell – Console Launch Confirmation
Nearly a year after the official announcement of the game, the Duper Games team brings us some new updates about Day of the Shell. They confirm that the game, originally announced only for PC, will also be available on all major consoles.
It will be available on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The port will be handled by publisher Entalto Studios. They also announced the news with a new trailer showing the game in action, offering a tactical roguelite adventure where we’ll make moves with just one click!
Day of the Shell: Key Features and Demo Available
DotS is shaping up to be an exciting tactical roguelite game. It combines strategic gameplay with fast, intuitive combat and the classic mechanics of the roguelike genre. It offers:
- One Click, One Turn: Tactical decisions will be made with just a single click, making the adventure more dynamic and intuitive.
- Explore and Survive: Explore different levels across islands, defeat monsters, and uncover treasures along the way.
- Builds and Death: Experiment with different builds by combining various Warden’s blessings to match your preferred playstyle. And with every death, you’ll restart the journey, activating permanent upgrades or planning your next run.
The game has an undisclosed release date, but it’s expected for Q3 of 2025. In the meantime, the Duper Games and Goblinz Publishing teams have made a demo available on Steam so you can try the game early, featuring 2 islands to explore, 14 upgrades, and 6 enemies to face.
