The long-awaited update 1.1.2.0 for Battlefield 6 is finally here, bringing a significant overhaul to combat balance, aiming mechanics, technical performance, and in-game content. This new patch aims to re-energize the community while correcting numerous issues reported since launch.
Aim Assist Returns to its Open Beta Settings
The most-discussed change in this patch is the complete rollback of aim assist to its open beta configuration. Gamepad players had long criticised the difficulty of securing long-range engagements, and EA now acknowledges that the previous handling model held them back.
Battlefield Studios explains that the decision is driven by extensive player data and feedback, showing clear benefits in precision and consistency during combat scenarios. This adjustment not only restores the older behaviour but also becomes the new default setting, with the option to fine-tune the response curve through the gameplay settings menu.

New Map: Eastwood Brings California Chaos
Update 1.1.2.0 introduces Eastwood, a fresh battlefield inspired by Southern California. This new environment mixes open streets, elevated areas, destructible structures, and a variety of vehicles ranging from helicopters to tanks… and even a golf cart.
Designed for every official mode including Conquest, Eastwood emphasises verticality, vehicular skirmishes, and close-quarters ambushes. This new playground is expected to become a favourite thanks to its dynamic layout and large-scale destructive opportunities that reward coordinated squads.
Temporary Mode “Sabotage” and Expanded Arsenal
Sabotage, the new limited-time mode, offers an experience centered around destruction and tactical positioning. Teams must either protect or destroy key objectives, creating a fast-paced and explosive atmosphere that pushes players to rethink their strategy.
The update also expands the arsenal with the DB-12 shotgun, the M357 sidearm, and Battle Pickups — rare weapons with limited ammo that can change the tide of a fight when used strategically. Progression has also been smoothed out, with clearer challenge descriptions and an additional mission, Rodeo, added to Gauntlet for players seeking more structured goals.
Portal Editor Upgrades and Technical Fixes
Creators in Battlefield Portal now benefit from a refreshed sandbox including new tools and objects — most notably the Golf Cart vehicle, opening the door to more varied and chaotic custom modes.
On the technical side, the patch tackles a wide array of issues. Input responsiveness has been improved for sticks, while several weapons benefit from precision adjustments. Combat animations, gadget behaviours, and solo-mode synchronization have also been refined, including fixes in the mission “Moving Mountains.”
