3 New Games Enter Xbox Game Pass Catalog Today

Xbox Game Pass lands A Game About Digging A Hole, Dome Keeper, and Death Howl in the catalog today, December 9, 2025.

 

Xbox Game Pass is back on its December roll. After a nonstop first-week surge and a short breather post-December 4th, today marks the start of a fresh streak with three new arrivals. Two of the drops are making their long-awaited console debuts day-one on Game Pass, and the third is a critically praised soulslike landing early for PC players ahead of its Xbox console launch.

 

Three Games Join Xbox Game Pass Today

First up is A Game About Digging A Hole, which launches on Xbox consoles today and immediately lands on Game Pass. It’s a straight-to-service console debut, making this the easiest way yet for subscribers to check out the viral digging oddity. Right alongside it is Dome Keeper, another former PC-exclusive that’s finally hitting Xbox consoles for the first time, also day-one on Game Pass. Both titles are available across Ultimate, PC, and Premium, and can be played on PC, consoles, and cloud.

Rounding out the drop is Death Howl, a highly rated soulslike that’s joining the Xbox ecosystem early on PC and handheld via Game Pass today. While its full console launch isn’t until February 19, 2026, Xbox has already confirmed it’ll join Game Pass on console the same day it releases. For now, it’s limited to Ultimate and PC tiers for PC platform only.

A Game About Digging A Hole is a laid-back, addictive digging sim where the whole point is to keep going deeper at your own pace, with zero pressure or time limits. You excavate a massive hole, uncover items and valuables to sell for cash, then use the profits to upgrade your gear so you can dig faster, tougher terrain, and reach even greater depths. It’s simple, satisfying, and built around that “just one more layer” loop of digging, selling, upgrading, and seeing how far down you can really go.

   

Dome Keeper is a tense roguelike survival miner where you’re constantly juggling two jobs: digging for resources and rushing back to defend your dome from alien waves. You tunnel underground to grab minerals and hunt for powerful artifacts, but every second spent mining is borrowed time before the next attack hits. Between assaults, you cash in what you’ve collected to upgrade your drill, jetpack, and defensive weapons through a progression tree, slowly turning your fragile dome into a fighting fortress.
