Air Twister is an on-rails shooter made by the legendary arcade game developer Yu Suzuki and the Ys Net team similar to his other massively successful titles (Space Harrier series) you will encounter a large array of diverse and creatively designed enemies and challenging bosses. Fear not however your winged mounts and homing missile shooting crossbow won’t fail you. Find other weaponry power ups and special moves which you unlock after every run or challenge yourself in the numerous other game modes like turbo mode or boss rush.

Air Twister is a fun and interesting modernisation of Space Harrier. The music by Valensia although at first seemed out of place suits the 80’s vibe this game exudes with the bright colours and vibrancy. It maintains the tricky increasing gaming difficulty of the older games and throws in some rogue-lite elements to level the playing field and help add some replay value to the game.

For those of you who missed it’s original release on the Apple Arcade, and I’m almost sure that was just about everyone, you owe it to yourself to download this release on your favorite console and enjoy. Even if you’ve never heard of Space Harrier, you will have fun playing through this, with its great action, soundtrack and tons of unlockables. Air Twister is definitely one that needs to be in your collection. I cannot recommend it enough!
