Beat Games reveals the popular rhythm game Beat Saber will no longer receive support for the PS4 and PS5. The game will no longer receive updates on PlayStation from June 2025.
The developer remains committed to VR, stating their passion is “unwavering” and that they are excited about what lies ahead for the studio and game.
Why Support Is Ending
Beat Saber will no longer support PS4 and PS5, as developer Beat Games drops the PlayStation platform from its future plans. In an FAQ on its site, the studio said: “As we look to the future and plan the next big leap for Beat Saber, we have made the decision to no longer release updates for PS4 and PS5 starting in June 2025.”
Although the studio did not specify the reason for discontinuing support on PlayStation, it recently ended support for the Meta Quest 1 due to its outdated status. Beat Games may view the PS VR2 as a dying platform.
What This Means for Current Players
Beat Games revealed in its FAQ that owners of PS4 and PS5 consoles will still be able to play Beat Saber going forward. The game, along with all previously released music packs and songs, will remain available for purchase. However, no new content will be released after June 18, 2025, and multiplayer will be discontinued on January 21, 2026.
Beat Saber will continue to receive support on the Meta Quest 3 and Steam VR. In a note to fans, the developer added: “We’re grateful for the incredible support you’ve shown us over the years, and we’re excited to share what the future holds for Beat Saber.”
