Battlefield 6 launched on October 10 for PC and consoles. However, with any new game, there were a couple of hiccups with some players forced into a lengthy queue and others locked out of game modes due to an entitlement bug on the EA app.

In response, Battlefield boss and Respawn Entertainment CEO Vince Zamella suggested that those stuck on the EA app try to refund the first-person shooter and purchase it on Steam.

The EA App Glitch That Locked Out Players

Vince Zampella took to X to respond to growing frustrations among the community, with users who bought Battlefield 6 on the EA app unable to access game modes hours after it launched due to an error “stating they need to purchase DLC or similar.”

Fortunately, EA was quick to correct the error and told fans it was working on and “deploying a resolution,” which it released late last night, allowing EA app users to enjoy the game with everyone else.

Steam Game Not Released Error

It wasn’t all straightforward for users on Steam either, as many saw lengthy queues of up to 500,000 players. In the early hours of the morning, EA said it was aware of a “Game Not Released” message, which was preventing some Steam users from downloading the FPS.

Some users have stepped in to help others, with one advising users to “clear the download cache on Steam” and another suggesting completely shutting down Steam and trying again.

However, it is worth noting that the majority of players were able to download and play the game without any issues, as it surpassed 700,000 concurrent players on Steam at launch.
